Background

Legacy Support Ltd was founded in 1999 by Harry Usher and Nigel Bruce to provide specialist data extraction and conversion services. We believe that by combining our wealth of experience with our custom conversion tools and repeatable processes we are in a unique position to offer high quality, low cost data conversion services to our customers.

We recently had occasion to call upon the talents of Adrienne Turner of Legacy Support.
Our project involved a Windows data conversion to Unix format which we know to be a rare request. Adrienne's knowledgeable and unfazed approach smoothed our anxious feathers and allowed the project to be completed without delay or mishap.

Key Staff

Harry Usher
Harry Usher is a graduate of Cambridge and Heriot Watt Universities in engineering and computer science. After working in the manufacturing and in the finance sectors he formed his own IT company. Usher and Co developed application software for the legal profession, warehouse keepers and timber merchants. Accounting, Time Recording, Case Management, Text Retrieval, Order Processing and Stock Control systems were successfully installed in about 200 sites throughout the UK. Harry brings the vast amount of experience gained and his considerable technical skills to bear in the varied data migration projects undertaken by LSL.

Adrienne Turner
Adrienne Turner joined Usher & Co in 1993 having graduated from Napier University in Computing.  She spent some time on the support desk gaining an understanding of the users problems and then moved into the technical support team.  Here she trained on DEC hardware and the VMS Operating system.  This expanded to cover a variety of versions of UNIX systems and inevitably into Microsoft products. 

Adrienne primary responsibilities are maintaining LSL’s multiple conversion environments (an extensive range of source and target databases and systems) and managing the physical transfer of data between systems. 

Hilary Cook
Hilary Cook has worked for the National Coal Board, Christian Salvesen and Usher & CO before joining LSL as the Office Manager.

Hilary is also responsible for managing the logistics involved in transferring data to and from customer sites.
